Our People

  • Joanna Ferensowicz, President, Co-Founder

As a mother, Joanna knows the importance of literacy and education. After visiting Africa, she was shocked to see the lack of libraries and educational resources. Acknowledging the great opportunity to help not only people in Africa, out of poverty, but also, the environment, Joanna co-founded a non-profit organization to do just that! She has a strong focus on results, long-term strategy, and awareness.

  • Florence McCambridge, Social Media Coordinator

Florence McCambridge is a writer from Toronto who has been in love with reading ever since she picked up her first book as a child. She understands the significance that education and literacy has played in her own life, and by joining STELLAA Florence is proud to support the cause of literacy in Africa, as well as the rest of the world, knowing what a difference books can make in the lives of children and adults.

Our Volunteers

Without our Volunteers in Canada and in Africa, we would not be able to deliver literacy and educational resources to communities that need it most.

Canadian volunteers are invaluable in raising funds to help build awareness about the global illiteracy pandemic and its immediate relation to poverty in Africa. S.T.E.L.L.A.A. offers numerous volunteer opportunities to fit different skill sets and time availability.
