Our Vision
To use literacy and education as a tool to eradicate poverty in Sub-Saharan Africa.
S.T.E.L.L.A.A.'S "T" Stands for Training
Many educational professionals in Sub-Saharan Africa do not have the proper training to teach literacy skills. Lac of resources in classrooms and the community prevent educational professionals from using books to effectively teach literacy.
S.T.E.L.L.A.A. is currently developing librarian training programs for S.T.E.L.L.A.A. libraries and the community's school libraries. The training programs include management skills and research based techniques for literacy instruction.
S.T.E.L.L.A.A.'S Libraries & Education Centre's
There is a lack of books and educational materials in many schools in Sub-Saharan Africa, however, there is also little to no libraries and education resource centres in the majority of communities in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Libraries bring communities together. They bring knowledge and access to empowerment. Libraries are essential, life changing institutions.
Libraries bring change as they are non-partisan institutions that provide info that allows citizens to make informed decisions. They create educated communities, fostering self-education, life-long learning and self-improvement.
They are accessible to everyone--children, parents, women--providing a level playing field for access to knowledge.
Donated Books & Resources Bring Opportunity & Empowerment
Books carry a wealth of nowledge. It is a common saying that "knowledge is power". The books that are donated by you, schools, corporations, colleges and universities, are re-used and the knowledge within them is recycled, again and again. You can pass on the wealth of knowledge by Acting Now!
